Good Afternoon everyone.
My name is Jayson D. Baldridge. Recently, in another world, I was known as MAJ Jayson D. Baldridge of the United States Army with 2 tours “under my belt”. I placed that in here because it is very relevant within my story itself. I am the owner and founder of a company I called BlanketTop Theater. It is one of the most wonderful and unique companies I have ever seen. With that being said, I am hoping and almost certain that you will agree with me soon.
In general, BlanketTop Theater (BTT) was born on July 28th 2009. Yes, it has been in business for almost 4 whole months.
However, out of those four months and a tremendously stressful marketing scheme, the idea itself has flourished from something that was originated to be more to the effect of a “cool-aid stand” into a no kidding “I think I are onto something” business. BTT is an outdoor movie theater production company specializing in poolside presentations, Big Game events, and extreme screen video gaming productions. Hence, my motto is “Bringing the Drive-in experience to your own backyard”. It is a company that does not receive the traditional hand-shakes and “thank you for your business”… I get hugs and a true sense of gratificaion.
BTT provides a 12 ft movies screen, and very nice PA system, DVD player, and a projector which is set up and monitored thoughout the presentation. We provide a service just like an indoor theater. One hour of music, the presentation (DVD is provided via the customer.), and a small segment of music again afterward to allow people to relax, clean up, and say there “I will see you guys later”. This solution brings people together to enable them to watch a movie, watch a major sporting event, or play video games on, as metioned earlier, a 12 ft screen. Please note that like everything else, our standard projection has changed with technology. It is ALMOST as clear and your your flat screen at home giving the viewers just one of the best quality video presentations right next to a swimming pool or designated area. To include, did I mention comfortable location that promotes togetherness, safety, and good clean fun.
The idea started when, when I was trying to be “SuperDad” around March of this year. I found this cheap little projector that really wasn’t that bad… but being the ingenious Dad I like to think I am, I put a quilt on a tree and then place the standard white sheet idea was not so thin to even see. Upon placing projection onto this sheet, all I got was Kung-Foo Panda on plaid. So… I bought a screen, however I did not know how big 12 really was. I got this bag with the screen in it, inflated the screen, and it took up my living room. It made my 40 inch flat screen seem so puny. It was awesome! At that moment, I thought this is something I have never seen and people really need to see this. Thus, I implemented this idea buy in full force.
Upon my brief time holding this company, the marketing that I have used is working but naturally everyone would want more. I have received 3 referrals from my theater. This type of service is just a giant “good karma festival” that needs to be experienced all over the place. And I believe that my service brings the sense of “community” to that very place that my customer designated it.
Please note that this is incredibly difficult to explain or paint the picture. Being a betting man, I bet you HAVE heard of this kind of service… but not at this scale of its clientele. My focus is on apartment complexes and backyards. I serve the DFW area and would like to move my services the more of the surrounding major cities.
If this story wins, it will not be just promoting my business naturally. StormDawg would be promoting a service that promotes (2X) togetherness, community, and doing the truly basic family type actives bring a positive environment to that location creating new relationship within itself. I sound like a hippie. (Not that there is anything wrong with that.:) ) But BTT is bringing back “simplicity”… and the people are loving it. It is truly amazing to see.
This is my story. Whether it wins or not, this story within itself is kind of fun just to type it out. I believe that with the right support elements, hoping StormDawg is one of them, BlanketTop Theater has the potential to really be something special.

Have a most excellent day!
Regards,

Many heartwarming stories and photos
Our goal is simple: to inspire computing happiness. We accomplish this by providing safe, affordable and reliable computer tech support directly over the internet. Based in Omaha, Nebraska, our local remote technicians service computer users across the country. We focus not only on ‘fixing’ computer problems, but also educating users on how to get the most out of their computing experience.
I’ve always had a passion for technology and love to share it with others. In fact my nickname to this day is “Mr. Fix-it” (yes, my last name really is ‘Fix’). Earlier this year, I partnered with an experienced IT support veteran to incorporate ProvenPowerful and position it for growth.
The biggest challenge we face as a relatively new entry into the computer repair market is creating awareness and a brand message that resonates with our target audience. We have the potential of saving consumers hundreds of dollars in traditional computer repair costs or even thousands of dollars in replacing an entire computer. As times have hit hard, computer users have turned to self-help, manufacturer warranties (most with no luck) or even fate by doing nothing to resolve their computer woes. We’re out to prove that we can provide a superior value and peace of mind in knowing that help is never more than a click away.
Currently, a solid portion of our new business comes exclusively from Google Adwords. We have done extensive SEO and SEM with a modest budget. Once we acquire new customers, they stay with us and we encourage them to refer us.
As a young, aspiring entrepreneur I have reached the point in my strategic planning where additional support from outside resources could prove invaluable to the continued success of the venture. I appreciate that this opportunity is out there.
Press-Pack, Incorporated is primarily engaged in creating and developing more ecologically friendly solutions for containers and packaging. We created the company to address the global market for plastics in industrial and consumer applications. Increased consumer awareness surrounding the composition and origination of plastic goods has led to an increased demand on manufacturers to generate products from recycled plastic composites as well as create recyclable products. Nowhere has this combination been more acute than in the packaging industry, especially for end-user containers of all varieties. The sheer quantities of containers used each day number in the billions, placing a tremendous strain on our environmental resources. Rapidly expanding markets in Asia alone, for example, will quadruple the burden on landfills over the next two decades. Press-Pack, Incorporated was created to address these issues by focusing on holistic, ecologically neutral solutions within these product lifecycles.
Press-Pack is design and engineering oriented and licenses its patented designs and technology. We are entrepreneurial in nature – we self develop ideas for product offerings after analyzing and observing a particular market segment, production method, or current product offering. The initial technologies being brought to market include plastic and paper based container designs, applicable to the food and beverage, industrial, and consumer industries, as well as packing solutions to maximize efficiencies during storage, shipping, and display. The company currently has multiple patents pending, a strong technology base that will be hard to duplicate, and a pipeline ready for future product offerings waiting to be developed.
Our initial marketing plan was to approach select companies that already have a strong interest in improving and promoting their environmental practices. This has produced some strong interest (and active development) in our products by global, market leading consumer product and beverage companies. We also have a small handful of large scale container manufacturers that have taken an interest in our offerings. However, to date, we have had no one formally ‘take the plunge’. We have developed first stage prototypes (almost a ‘must’ in our market space) and are actively working on securing investment capital to get these to the next step.
Our struggle (and need for advice) is probably different than most companies- basically, we’re struggling with how to promote ourselves (to companies, to the general press, etc.) while recognizing there are sensitive intellectual property issues in play. We could use some solid advice on how to raise the profile of the company (and broaden our base of potential partners) without giving away our competitive secrets upfront. Our marketing budget is extremely limited until some of the current business arrangements begin producing greater revenue.
We look forward to hearing from you.
